The Norwood Lodge of Elks held its annual installation of officers this evening at Fraternity Hall, located in the Odd Fellows’ Building. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new term of leadership for one of Norwood’s most active fraternal organizations.
George F. James was installed as Exalted Ruler, the highest office in the lodge. Other officers included Frank T. Allen as Esteemed Leading Knight, Daniel V. Norris as Esteemed Royal Knight, and Thomas C. Brady as Esteemed Lecturing Knight.
The installation was conducted by a distinguished team of Elks leaders: Dr. John T. Donovan, District Deputy Exalted Ruler, served as chief installer. He was joined by John F. Dolan (Grand Leading Knight), Elija T. Gilliland (Grand Loyal Knight), John B. Prendergast (Grand Lecturing Knight), William C. Kindellan (Grand Inner Guard), John C. Donnelley (Grand Tyler), and Michael J. Horgan (Grand Trustee).
Following the formal proceedings, attendees enjoyed a banquet and cabaret show, celebrating the new officers and the lodge’s ongoing contributions to Norwood’s civic and social life.
