Four Generations at Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Party

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Robinson, Walpole Street, were tendered a surprise party in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday evening at the home of their daughter Mrs Leo Salonen, Charlotte Road, East Walpole. The occasion was also the 5th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Salonen.

Both couples were presented numerous gifts and 25 silver dollars were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. The hostess served a buffet lunch which included a wedding cake topped by a small bridal couple.

Attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. William MacDowell, parents of Mrs. Robinson and Leo Salomon Jr. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Salonen, making four generations present. Guests attended from East Walpole, Norwood and Newton Highlands. Mrs. F M Singleton matron of honor at the Robinson wedding 26 years ago, was also present.

Shower Honors Florence Larson

Miss Florence Larson of Mylod Street was tendered a surprise miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Henry Holman, 306 Nicholas Street on Saturday evening Private duty nurses at the Norwood Hospital were hostesses.

She received many lovely gifts and dainty refreshments were served.

Carol Machum of Winter Street is spending the weekend with Miss Marjorie Walsh in New Bedford.

Mr and Mrs Robie Elliott of Cottage Street were at their summer home in New Hampshire, over the holiday weekend.

Mr. and Mrs John W Fulton of Walpole are the parents of a babv daughter born Wednesday at the Norwood Hospital. Mr. Fulton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.K. Fulton of Vernon Street Norwood.

Virginia Forrest of Nichols Street left Wednesday for a vacation in Pennsylvania.

Bette Slavin has returned to teaching duties in Maine after a ten-day vacation with her family on Winslow Avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Grow have returned from their honeymoon to New York and are making their home temporarily at 335 Walpole Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rose of Elliot Street will leave Sunday for Atlanta, Georgia where they will spend a two-week vacation.

Gerry Slavin of Winslow Avenue was the guest of Leighton Baughn of Kingsport, Tennessee, at a Bowdoin College house party held the holiday weekend.

Miss Pheobe Anne Hayes of Prospect Street, entertained on Monday evening tn honor of Miss Shirley Engel of Walpole Street. Guests attending were Jane Costello, Shirley Dawson, Ruth Mattson, Eileen Nugent, Louise Coughlin, Lois Butler, and Gerry Slavin.

Rev and Mrs. William F English were called to Hartford, Connecticut this week on the account of the death of Mrs Timothy D. Dickson, mother of Mrs. English. Mr English conducted the services in that city on Tuesday assisted by the pastor of Mrs. Dickinson’s Church.

Miss Olive M Dalton, Bond Street, has returned from a few days spent in New York.

Mr and Mrs John MacLeod are making their home on West Street in Walpole. Mrs MacLeod is the former Margaret Connolly of Winslow Avenue.

John Millen who is stationed with the Air Corps in Georgia, is home on furlough with his family on Vernon Street.

Ruth Sparrow of Winslow Avenue, a student at Simmes Hospital, Arlington, is studying for three months at the Providence City Hospital.

Margaret Donovan, 92 Walpole Street, Norwood, a stenographic student at Bryant & Stratton School, is on the Principal’s List for the second marking period
Mr and Mrs. Charles Kelley of Pleasant Street are entertaining relatives from California

Miss Margaret Shaw of Waloole Street was a guest at the Amherst house party during the weekend.

Miss Martha Zimmer of Walpole Street is vacationing with her sister, Mrs Harlin Robertson of Bark Bay.

Norwood Boys To Graduate at B. C.

Vacationing from Boston College during the next two weeks will be Edmund Coughlin, Cross Street, John Flaherty, Granite Street, James Coughlin, Sycamore Street, Thomas Conroy, Railroad Avenue, John Kelly, Nahatan Street, Charles Drummey Nichols Street, and Jerome Daunt Railroad Avenue.

B.C. will graduate three Norwood boys on May 1st. They are Edmund Mulvehill, Richard Ready, and Jasper Pazniorkas The school term begins on May 1st and will be through May of 1943.

Beverly Fleming of Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, formerly of Norwood, entertained Rose James of Vernon Street and Gerry Slavin of Winslow avenue, on Tuesday evening.
