For the convenience of patrons, the Morrill Memorial Library has completed the installation of new steel display shelving in the Plimpton Wing, accompanied by a small reading nook designed to offer a comfortable space for browsing materials. The improvements reflect the library’s ongoing effort to make its collections more accessible and its public spaces more inviting.
In the accompanying photograph, several community members demonstrate the new features: Bertil C. Flinkman, of 413 Washington Street, sits on a compact movable stool that allows readers to easily examine books on the lower shelves; Mrs. Carl Wickstrom, of 52 Hillcrest Place in Westwood, makes use of the newly created reading nook; and Miss Shirley Johnson, a High School page, assists in the area.
