Sgt. Arthur Webber, Who Has Been Away Five Years, Sees Pal

Two Norwood pals, now both in the armed services, met for the first time in over five years recently in the Admiralty Islands sector of the battlefront. According to a letter received by Mrs. Frank Robbins of 64 Maple St., her son, Pharm Mate 2nd Class, Carroll Robbins, former Norwood High School ball player, met his old Norwood pal, Tech Sergt. Arthur Webber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Webber of 29 Phillips Ave., in that far away battle area and to make the meeting more dramatic it occurred on D-Day.
Sergt. Webber has not been home for over five years and the thrill of meeting his buddy from the old hometown was a most enjoyable occasion according to the letter received by Mrs. Robbins Pharm Mate Robbins is in that area on a malaria control mission, and the two pals had a fine time talking over old times in Norwood when they both attended school and palled around together.
The Webber and Robbins families have been friends for years and Roy Webber, father of Sergt. Arthur Webber is a veteran of the First World War and has been very active in the affairs of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, He is a past Commander of the Norwood Post of that veteran’s organization.
