Norwood School Bands Practice At N.H. Camp-August 28, 1967

Approximately 75 student musicians from Norwood’s junior and senior high school bands departed Saturday morning for a week-long summer music camp at Camp Kehonka in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, situated along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Co-sponsored by the Parent Music Association, the annual retreat is designed to prepare the student instrumentalists for the upcoming autumn football season under the direction of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Philip O. Coakley and Music Director Paul Alberta.

While intense daily rehearsals for marching, concert, and stage bands form the core of the itinerary, the camp also balances hard work with recreation. Planned activities for the students include swimming, boating, a scenic lake cruise, a cook-out, and an evening talent show. Musical activities are directed by Paul Alberta alongside Junior High Band Director William Tower.
