Chief of Police Harry Swift, along with Officers Barrett and Curran and two Federal prohibition agents, raided an old building near the Medfield line and arrested four men suspected of producing illicit whisky.
Those taken into custody were Joe Burnett, formerly of South Boston; Joe Day; Adolf Tulewski, formerly of Norwood; and Joseph Chesnowlez, formerly of Chelsea.
According to the officers, the raid resulted in the seizure of two 20‑gallon stills, 300 gallons of mash, and 35 gallons of moonshine.
The men were expected to appear before Commissioner Hayes in Boston the following day.
