The Norwood Historical Society has a collection of materials related to Norwood’s military history, including uniforms, medals, posters, documents, newspapers and newspaper clippings, photos, and other memorabilia belonging to Norwood veterans ranging from the Civil War to the Cold War.

We are asking the public to help expand that collection.

Norwood veterans or their families who would like to contribute to our collection can provide photos, memorabilia, or write something about the life and service of the veteran.

We will scan your photos and return the originals. Or, if you decide to donate your original photos to our collection, digital copies can be provided to you.

Whenever it’s possible, written summaries should include information about a veteran’s military service. We’d also love to know who they were before and after their service if they survived. Information about where they lived or worked, their personality, hobbies and interests, and whatever other information or stories you want to include would be appreciated.

Memorabilia you donate will be added to our collection, and information from your written summary will be used in the description whenever we put it on display.
