From Norwood Hospital:
NORWOOD, MA – Florence Henderson surprised an elated group of Norwood Hospital patients on Saturday, October 29th with a visit to the community hospital. Ms. Henderson, who played American’s Favorite TV Mom, Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch, was in town for the Best Years Expo at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
After delivering the Best Years keynote address, Ms. Henderson made her way to Norwood. Norwood Hospital patients were invited into one of the hospital’s family rooms, where Ms. Henderson met with each of them personally. A multi-talented Broadway, film and television star, Ms. Henderson warmly greeted each patient and their family members, posing for photos, answering questions, and sharing stories of her career and life.
“The visit by Ms. Henderson was delightful for our patients and staff,” said Joanne Curry, Patient Advocate at Norwood Hospital. “We all know that keeping patients feeling positive goes a long way in the healing process. Florence brightened everyone’s day and we appreciate how therapeutic that can be for our patients.”
Ms. Henderson is best known as matriarch Carol Brady on the classic hit TV series The Brady Bunch. In 2008, she was inducted into the Smithsonian Institute as one of the greatest pop icons of all time. In 2010, she was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and currently hosts her own talk show, The Florence Henderson Show, and cooking show, Who’s Cooking with Florence Henderson.
