Board on Record As Approving Method Promotion from Ranks

General Manager William C. Kendrick reported to the Norwood Board of Selectmen on Tuesday night the appointment of Louis D’Espinosa as Superintendent of the Cemetery Department of the town to succeed Mr. Smith who retires on pension on July 1. Mr. D’Espinosa has been employed in the engineering department of the town up to this time.

Following the announcement Selectman John E. Folan congratulated the Manager upon using good judgment in the appointment of a man from within the organization who had given a number of years service and was well qualified for the job. On a suggestion of Chairman Charles E. Houghton, the Board then voted to go on record as approving the promotion of faithful public servants whenever it is possible, all other things being equal, as a method which promoted good government.
