NORWOOD. July -Despite inclement weather 15.000 persons witnessed a parade today sponsored by the American Legion Post, which has been conducting a four-day celebration of Independence Day.

The parade, with seven divisions in line, was the largest ever conducted in this town. Chairman Charles Houghton of the Board of Selectmen was chief marshal and four other members of the board were his aids.

After leading the parade, the selectmen dropped out at Memorial Park to review the procession with other town officials and county authorities. The program continued at the high school field with sports competitions and was climaxed with a fireworks display tonight.
