In order for the members of the Norwood Revolver Team to compete with teams from all over New England at the annual New England Police Revolver League shoot to be held at Camp Curtis Guild in Wakefield,
⠀
the Norwood selectmen and the finance committee have made available funds for the local officers to defray their expenses for the four-day trip.
The competition shoot starts today and will end on Sunday with the police teams of Westwood and Walpole also entered. The allotting of expense money for the local officers came from the Selectmen and Finance Committee as a reward to the local officers for the many hours the local police spent at target practice on their own time during the past year, and for their appearance representing the Town of Norwood in other state meets.
Heading the local sharpshooters will be Acting Chief James M. Murphy with Sergeant James Lyden and Patrolmen Joseph Paquette, Joseph Connolly, and Albert Bishop making up the rest of the team. The collective group headed to the tournament representing the municipality with pride, showcasing the dedication of Norwood law enforcement officers in regional sporting and marksmanship competitions.
