This Day In Norwood History-January 25, 1924-Thomas B. Mulvehill Is Elected Chairman by Unanimous Vote

Heads Norwood Selectmen

NORWOOD- Jan 25 – Thomas B. Mulvehill of 302 Nahatan st has been selected as chairman of the Norwood Board of Selectmen for the coming year by a unanimous vote.

The new chariman is a native of Westwood, 49 years old, and the owner of the biggest taxi and teaming business in town.

He has serves as Representative to the General Court from this district, being the first and only Democrat in this district to do so.

He has been a member of the Norwood Board of Selectmen for five years and is the senior member of the present board.

He is a charter member of the Norwood Lodge of Elks and a past exalted ruler. He belongs to the Norwood council, Knights of Columbus, and to the A.O.H. He is a member of the executive committee of the Norwood Board of Trade.

He was married 14 years ago to Mrs Mary Whalen of Cambridge, They have three sons and one daughter, all living at home.

The new chairman has all the qualifications for a successful chairmanship. His selection for the office is one of the most popular in recent years and one that will have the respect of the general public because of his general popularity.
