1944 Bird & Son, Roofing L.I.U. No. 1383 C.I.O Christmas Party

With most of their dads in overseas service, these youngsters were royally entertained by Bird & Son, Roofing L.I.U., No. 1383, C.I.O., at a Christmas party Sunday afternoon at K. of C. Hall. Here, “T/5” Johnny Compisano receives his gift from Santa Claus, in the person of John Pratt of Walpole, while Sailor Boy Arthur Twomey waits for the ceremonies to get over with so he can see what he has got. More than 175 children, some of them accompanied by their parents, were entertained at the affair, at which cake, ice cream and candy were served and presents distributed to all the young guests. Fred P. Turco was chairman of the committee, assisted by John C. Gnecco. Jr., Paul Rowe, Olga Grybus and Connie McNally.
