While a statewide police broadcast was actively transmitting descriptions of two missing Norwood youths at the tearful behest of their mother, brothers Donald Webber, 17, and Leonard Webber, 23, were safely locked away inside Dedham Jail.

The curious discovery came to light when a jail guard walked into the Dedham Police Station, noticed the statewide teletype missing persons broadcast, and informed officers that the two sought brothers were already securely behind bars. Their mother, Mrs. Minor Webber of 446 Winter St., was promptly notified of their whereabouts.

The brothers had been arrested the previous night and arraigned in court that morning, where they were ordered held on $300 bail. They are slated to appear in Walpole Court on Monday to answer to charges of larceny stemming from the alleged theft of shoes and rubber boots from the Norfolk County Farm.
