Emma Louise Shattuck Offers Town Gift of Land For Parkway-This Day in Norwood History-June 17, 1938

June 17, 1938-The widow of Edmund J. Shattuck, Emma Louise Shattuck, offered a gift of land to the town of Norwood through the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday night which may make possible a new parkway connecting the cemetery, Shattuck Park, Nichols Street, and the town. Mrs. Shattuck has offered the town a portion of her land on Winter Street for this parkway which would connect the center of the town with the Nichols Street parkway. The proposed connecting street, Shattuck Park Road, connects the Cemetery and Winter street to Shattuck Park and Nichols street today as Mrs. Shattuck intended.
