Norwood Students’ Art Chosen for Boston 350 Time Capsule-July 8, 1980

In a celebration of local artistic talent and the historic milestone of Boston’s 350th anniversary, six elementary school students from Norwood have received prestigious recognition. On July 8, 1980, it was announced that Paul Hannon, Brian Collins, and Brian Needham were selected by WNAC-TV to have their original artwork showcased on television and preserved within a special Jubilee 350 time capsule. This initiative, a collaborative effort between WNAC-TV and the Massachusetts Art Education Association, invited students across the region to contribute to the commemoration of the city’s birthday.

The three students—Paul Hannon, a second grader at the Balch School; Brian Collins, a third grader at the Prescott School; and Brian Needham, a second grader at the Oldham School—will be honored guests at an exclusive Boston 350 birthday celebration.
