The Norwood Eagles Bowling Team completed a remarkable turnaround, climbing from the bottom of the standings to win the championship in the Norwood Fraternity Bowling League. Their achievement was celebrated at the league’s third annual banquet, held at the Press Club clubhouse at Berwick Park.
The team, led by Captain P. Munz, included E. Trask, J. Coughlin, R. O’Leary, E. Clark, T. Martin, and H. Le Clair. Their victory capped a season that began with low expectations but ended with top honors.

The banquet featured prize presentations to several teams, including the Press Club, Knights of Columbus, St. Catherine’s Parish, and the Red Men’s team. Individual awards were also given, with Meyers of the Press Club earning recognition for the highest individual average.
Notable guests included Ex-President George Smith and other league dignitaries. The event also previewed upcoming bowling competitions and prize events, reinforcing the league’s role in fostering community and friendly rivalry.
The Eagles’ rise from cellar dwellers to champions was a testament to perseverance, teamwork, and the spirit of Norwood’s athletic community.
