Woman Fined $600 Given Three Months, Suspended Dedham Court Wednesday

Beatrice Shidlowski of 592 Pleasant st, wife of Joseph Shidlowski, whose home was raided by the town liquor squad yesterday, was fined on three counts by Judge Sanborn In the Dedham Court today, and a sentence of three months in the House of Correction was also imposed. Mrs Shilowskl was arrested on charges of unlawful sales of liquor.

On the first charge she was fined $100; on the second charge, $200, and $300 on the third charge. At the Shidlowski home, the ralders found 61 gallons of beer. Judge Sanborn later suspended Mrs Shidlowski’s sentences during her good behavior,

Four other raids yielded considsrable whisky, beer and wine, in various districts of the town. The alleged law breakers in these cases will appear before Judge Sanborn in the Dedham Court, next Wednesday. The raids were conducted under the direction of Chief of Police William C. Kimdelan, assisted by officers Peter M. Curran, Irving Reid, Patrick Coyne, Henry H. Breen, Charles Donnell, Henry F. Snow, William Barrett, John Nee, Thomas Lydon and John 8. Conroy.

“The first visit the raiders made was at the home of Antanas Masteika, 27 Cedar st, where they found 40 gallons of beer and three quarts of whisky. Masteika was not arrested.

Simon Kazmowskl’s home at 5 Savin av had a 15-gallon whisky still, and a gallon and a half of whisky and some beer. Simon was arrested on two warrants, charging unlawful sales.

Joseph Shidlowski of 592 Pleasant st must explain to the court the story of his 61 gallons of beer, from Which supply his wife is alleged to have made unlawful sales.

The fourth raid was at Rocco Popola’s home, 22 Sturtevant av, where the officers found 138 gallons of wine. Popola was arrested on two warrants charging sales of wine,

The last visit was to John Okulowick of 1364 Washington st. Annie Okulowick was arrested, charged with three unlawful sales at this house.
