In The Service Now-This Day In Norwood History-September 3, 1943
Promoted In Navy- Ensign Howard Blasenak has been promoted to Lieutenant (junior grade) in the United States Navy.
LT. Blasenak, formerly stationed on New Caledonia, has been assigned to a ship in the Pacific fleet. He is the son of Mrs. Lena Blasenak, 22 Endicott street.
Home From Sicily
Lt. Francis Allen Massey, Jr., U.S.N.R., is spending a short leave at his home on Mylod Street He has just returned from the invasion of Sicily.
Previous to this, he spent more than a year in the Pacific and Took part in the Battle of Guadalcanal. At that time, his ship received commendation from Admiral Halsey for shooting down seven Japanese planes in one encounter.

Patrick Walsh, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick F. Walsh of Myrtle Street, Norwood, has been. on leave here after spending thirteen months at Dutch Harbor,
