Reunion Dinner of the 101st Infantry veterans of World War II will be held in the Main Ballroom of the Hotel Bradford Boston at 8 00 p m Sunday March 17.

Only those men who were members since the activation of the 101st Infantry into the Federal Service on January 16. 1941 are eligible to attend. Because of the great demand for tickets, members are allowed only one quest, either wife or mother.

It is hoped that all the members of the former Company G 101st Infantry of Norwood shall show a good attendance. Tickets mav be secured from Captain Joseph A Lyons. 45 Concord Avenue Norwood or Sgt James McDevitt, Westwood.

Douglas Ross Discharged From Coast Guard

Douglas Huggard Ross, 24, after serving 43 months’ service as a members of the Coast Guard as a Radioman 2/C. has been given his honorable discharge and is now enjoying a well-earned vacation at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ross of 16 Park street.

Ross enlisted in the Coast Guard on July 16. 1942, and saw service in the Pacific, Canada, Newfoundland, the Philippines, Greenland and in the North Atlantic where he was on weather and inti-sub patrol for over’a year. He served on two ships, the U.S.S. Tampa and the U.S.S. Menemsha. the latter being commended for hazardous duty.

Ross was graduated from the Norwood High School in 1939 and was employed by the New Haven Railroad before entering the service. A brother. David, recently reenlisted in the Navy and is now in California with his wife and three children. He Is soon to leave for active duty at Guam. Another brother, Kenneth, served 45 months in the Infantry. He is now discharged and has returned to work at Bird & Sons.

John J. Foley Is Discharged

Pfc. John J. Foley of 56 Cross street has recently received his honorable discharge from the Army after four.years of service.

Pfc. Foley received his basic training in Georgia and was last stationed at Fort Mason, San Francisco, California.

He is married to the former Ina D. Light of Oklahoma and the couple have an eight-month-old daughter. They are residing temporarily at 56 Cross Street.

Foley attended Norwood High School and was employed by Bird and Son for seven years prior to entering the service. He has now resumed his position at Bird’s.
