The Henry O. Peabody School for Girls is set to host its fifth annual Harvest Fair and Flea Market this Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the school grounds.
Promising a lively afternoon of food, family entertainment, and community shopping, the fair features an extensive array of booths and attractions.
Food, Festivities, and Attractions
Visitors can look forward to a diverse menu of fast-food treats and homemade goodies, including subs, pepper steaks, meatball sandwiches, quiche lorraine, chili, hot roast beef sandwiches, corn on the cob, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, baked goods, harvest produce, jams, jellies, and fudge.
Shopping booths will offer antiques, housewares, jewelry, boutiques, clothing, crafts, sports equipment, toys, and games, while roaming clowns delight children with balloon animals.
A special highlight of the fair is the candy-guessing contest, featuring four major prizes on display at the school: a handmade afghan, a Rival slicer, an Otagari hand-decorated Happu ceramic storage jar, and a tortoise jewelry stand. Adding to the festive autumn atmosphere, a giant display featuring “Grandma Pumpkin”—showcased alongside local participants Nancy Cassani of Holbrook and Donna Gemelli of Norwood in photographs captured by Larry Welsh—will greet attendees.
Supporting Student Activities
All proceeds generated from the Harvest Fair will directly benefit the school’s Student Representative Organization. Funds will be utilized throughout the academic year to sponsor educational and recreational activities for the student body.
Organizers noted that in the event of inclement weather, the entire fair will be moved indoors.
