Fall Members Meeting: Medfield’s 375th Anniversary
October 24 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
We will hear about Medfield’s 375th Anniversary from educator and historian Richard DeSorgher, presenting “The Growth of a Small New England Town: Medfield 1651 to Present.”
Incorporated in 1651, Medfield was the place of pivotal events in King Philip’s War, played a role in the underground railroads, and became an industrial hub for companies producing hats, boots, nails, and forks. Often regarded as “Mr. Medfield History,” DeSorgher is a former teacher of social studies and English, long involved with the Medfield Historical Society and Massachusetts state commissions.
A short report from officers of the Norwood Historical Society will be presented as a welcome to the event. All interested parties are welcome free of charge.
