Eleven marching bands from across New England, including two local school groups, are officially slated to participate in the upcoming Classic 4 marching band competition, scheduled for noon on Sunday, October 12, at Norwood High School.
Event Details and Local Participation
Bands from both Norwood High School and Westwood High School will be featured among the participants. While the Norwood Mustangs band will perform during the event, they will not compete as they are serving as the official host.
The regional competition is sponsored by the Norwood Parents Music Association, with Norwood Music Director Paul Alberta assisting in organizing the logistical arrangements. “We want it to be the best classic yet,” declared event chairman Dolores Sheehan.
Admission for spectators is set at $2 for adults and $1.50 for children. Organizers noted that community members interested in volunteering to help run the event can contact Mrs. Sheehan at 762-5162.
