His Washerwoman Tells of Discovery
Just After Nellie Keras Was Murdered at Dedham.
May 10, 1933- Mrs. Anna Kosiba, a government witness, today testified she found bloodstains in a suitcase Allie Osman used to bring his laundry to her when he returned it a few days after Nellie Keras was murdered.
Allie Osman and Ahmed Osman, unrelated, are on trial charged with assaulting and murdering the nine-year-old girl last Christmas day.
Mrs. Kosiba said she had laundered Allies’ clothes on several occasions, using her suitcase to carry them.
“On the Monday after Christmas he returned the empty dress suitcase to me”, she said. “‘I do not need it any longer’, he said. He was trembling and nervous and I asked him what was the matter.”
The witness quoted Allie Osman as saying: “I am a sick man. I have been to a party”.
Mrs. Kosiba said she asked where the party was held and that Allie pointed to Oolah Avenue, where the girl lived and where her body was found.
The child’s body was found hidden in a wood pile in the basement after a widespread search.
