Andrew J. Ciarletta Jr. has been named to replace former Winslow principal Alan R. Wonson, who has been appointed principal of the new Willett Elementary School.

The Norwood School Committee yesterday officially announced the appointment of Andrew J. Ciarletta Jr. as principal of the Winslow elementary school.
A resident of Dedham, Andrew J. Ciarletta Jr. has taught sixth-grade classes at the Cleveland school here for five years. He most recently served as administrative assistant to the Cleveland School principal. In addition, the new principal has taught in the ASPIRE summer school program and served on the reading curriculum and mathematics textbook selection committees.
Andrew J. Ciarletta Jr. earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1959 and received his master’s degree from the State College at Boston. He has recently completed thirty hours of additional graduate study. A veteran with four years of service as a pilot with the U.S. Army, Andrew J. Ciarletta Jr. lives with his wife and three children at 81 Robinwood Road in Dedham. In his new administrative position, he will guide the school community forward into an exciting new academic year.
