Eileen O’Brien, 48 Florence Avenue Norwood who left Boston on March 19 with a shipment of WAC recruits to Fort Des Moines Iowa Womens Arms Corps Training Center.
Pvt O’Brien’s sister, Pvt Anne M O Brien, is with the United States Marine Corps. Her brother James D. O’Brien S 2/c is with the Naval Air Corps.
Pvt O’Brien was an active worker with the Norwood Red Cross Surgical Dressing Unit. She attended Norwood Senior High School and the Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing.
