The Norwood Historical Society Needs Your Help!

Get close to the past by volunteering at the Norwood Historical Society.

Volunteering helps the Society fulfill our mission, connects you with others, helps build community ties, looks good on a resume, and can be fun!

Are you a history buff with skills and time to share? Are you a student or a recent graduate looking for hands-on experience in the archives, museum, and historic preservation fields? Do you need to perform a certain number of volunteer hours? Or, do you just like meeting new people and working toward a common goal? Please consider volunteering!

The Norwood Historical Society is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving our community’s history since 1907. As an all-volunteer organization, we depend on volunteers for everything we do.

We need volunteers to help fill a variety of roles.

  • Weekend tour guides at the F Holland Day House
  • Greeters for events and presentations held at the Day House throughout the year
  • Walking tour guides
  • Setting up and maintaining historical exhibits at the Day House
  • Setting up and running public events (Norwood Day, Norwood 101, Juneteenth, Senior Center Veterans Display, etc.)
  • Setting up special events at the Day House (Holiday decorating, NHS Madrigals, Members Meetings, etc.)
  • Cleaning the Day house
  • And more!

Do you have a special skill or area of knowledge? Share your talents! Do you have an idea for an exhibit or program we could run at the Day house? Let us know! We would love to talk to you about how you can help us with our mission.
