Vincent R. Bailey Named To Post By United Fund-July 18, 1957

Vincent R. Bailey was named to serve as a vice chairman of the individual gifts division of the United Fund campaign in Greater Boston this fall. As a member of the board of directors of Wentworth Institute and a vice chairman of the Westwood Finance Committee, Bailey brought significant experience to his new role. He also served on the board of directors of the Brooks Molding Corporation in Norwood.

Bailey’s commitment to community service was evident through his involvement with various organizations. As an active campaign worker for the Red Cross and Red Feather drives, he demonstrated his dedication to helping those in need. Additionally, Bailey was a graduate of Harvard College and had served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1941 to 1946.

Upon accepting his post as vice chairman, Bailey expressed his enthusiasm for the United Fund campaign, stating, “I am delighted that the United Fund has at least become a reality here In Greater Boston and am anxious to play whatever part I can to get it off to a successful start.”

Bailey’s personal life was also notable. He resided with his wife, Jean, and four children on 375 Gay Street in Westwood.

The United Fund incorporated several organizations, including the Red Cross, Red Feather, Salvation Army, USD, and the Arthritis & Rheumatism Foundation. Other health and welfare organizations were expected to join the fund prior to the fall campaign.
