New Memorial Auditorium Proposed

A total of $79.508 has been raised to date for the Veterans’ Memorial Building Fund it was disclosed today by John R. Russell, treasurer of the fund.

The bulk of the money was collected in a concentrated drive, conducted from June 10 to June 17 and launched with a rally at the Junior High School attended by Governor Maurice J Tobin.

Since the subscribers to the fund had two years in which to fulfill their pledges from the date at which they made them, the largest share of the amount raised has been promised and hasn’t actually been received.

Donations and pledge cards are being taken by Roland Malmquist, fund auditor at the Morris Plan office on Central Street.

What means if any will be employed to obtain the difference between the amount received and the $125.000 goal was not revealed today Francis C Foley, Campaign Chairman stated that he would make a report which would include suggestions on how to raise additional money, at a committee meeting which he will call shortly after Labor Day.
