Michael Sameski, III, of 98 Monroe street, received his NSvy dis-charge recently, after four years of duty. His last station was at Guam. Michael plans to attend college this fall season.

A former professional wrestler and popular Norwood Arena employee, Ralph Mettler, and family, vacationed at Ilie -Mohawk Trail in Becket, Massachusetts, camping under the sponsorship of Mass, and R. I. YMCA, and enjoying the New England square and folk dancing.

A number of Bird & Son employees attended the Lithuanian Annual field day in Brockton on Labor Day

Another successful Labor Day fishing trip was held at Marshfield by fellow workers of Bird’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Kaseta of Saint John Avenue observed their 25th Wedding Anniversary on September 4. Their good neighbor surprised them with a 25111 Wedding Anniversary party held at Ituneberg Hall, Wilson Street. Many relatives and friends attended. The toastmaster for the great gathering was Mr. William Kurdirka. Mr and Mrs. Kaseta are active parishoners of Saint George’s Lithuanian Church and are members of several church organizations. He is employed by Bird’s. Mrs. Kaseta is with the Vega Bakery concern.

Kenneth Rouillard of the Planning department in the Main Mill office of Birds & Son, E. Walpole, is vacationing. Ernest Irish Oakes from stock transfer Dept, office is taking Kenneth’s position during his absence. Herman Lauble has been acting supervisor in the absence of Charles Mutch, foreman, who is vacationing.

Bill Cormier and George Chew, formerly of Norwood, are living thousands of miles apart from us. Bill Cormier is now residing in the beautiful Hollywood. Peter Daly has returned to work at Bird & Son’s after a month’s vacation. He was active for two weeks on extensive field training with the National Guard at Camp Drum, N Y . and attended the VFW 56th National Encampment which was held in Boston for one week.

Many thousands of Lithuanians from New England attended the Lithuanian Annual Picnic on Labor Day in Brockton. Everyone claims this Annual Picnic was the biggest success in many years.
