
Police records show there have been six attempted attacks on young girls and women in Norwood in the past two months.
On Oct. 4, á 14-year-old girl was assaulted while walking on Tremont st., the street where the Annese girl lived and where her body was found. In this case, the girl’s screams frightened the attacker away.
On Oct 14. a 36-year-old Norwood woman, while walking on Nahatan st.. near Dunns Pond, was accosted by a man who leaped from the bushes. This was less than 150 yards from the Norwood Police Station. Another woman came along and the man was frightened away.
On Sept. 18. at 10:30 p. m.. a woman was accosted by a man on Linden st., near the Norwood Hospital. He, too, was frightened away.
On that same night. Sept. 18. two girls, 13 and 14 years old, reported being chased by a man on Bond st.. near the Junior High School.
On Sept. 9. a 16-year-old girl was seized by a man while walking near the Junior High School. The man tried to knock her down and drag her into nearby bushes, she told police. Her struggles frightened him away.
On Sept. 4 a 16-year-old girl said a man attempted to grasp her on Oolah av., two streets from Tremont st. He, too. ran when she screamed.
