Gadget Will Be Submitted To The FBI For Inspection

The FBI and other police officials have expressed much interest in the new finger-printing machine invented by Thomas C. Lydon which he demonstrated for the first time during Monday’s session of the Police School at the Memorial Building.
The machíne, which is the result of the chief’s hobby of studying finger-printing methods, is a hollow metal tube which records prints on a tape when fingers are inserted. On the advice of James J Nicholson, the Federal Agent who was in charge of the course given yesterday, Chief Lydon said he would submit the machine to the FBI for its inspection.
The chief was assisted in his invention by Joseph Lamb of Irving street, an electrical engineer. Inability to procure the necessary materials held up the completion of the machine.
