The first annual Spanish luncheon was recently planned, prepared, and served by Mias Ruth Johngren’s Spanish III class at the Norwood Senior High School. The custom of having a national luncheon was inaugurated several years ago by members of the French III class and has become an annual event.
The food was arranged and prepared by Elizabeth Guilderson, Patricia Fogarty, Adele Antonaitis, Lorraine Cavanaugh, Eileen Connolly, Kathleen McGufT, Madeline Lydon, and Elizabeth Bunney. Attractive Spanish menus were designed and made by Frederick O’Brien, Gary Brown, Stephen Newark, William Duquette, Robert Luce, David Sanders, Richard Russell, Joseph Homer, Robert Fraser, and Donald Greenwood arranged the room for the party.
The luncheon consisted of Atunoon cebolas, tomates y carrot (Tuna fish with onions, tomatoes, and rice). Lechuga, tomates, cebollas, apio y cohombro enselada (Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, celery, and cucumber salad), Panecillos, (rolls), leche, (mille), and Postre maranja, sandia, platino y pina (Orange, melon, banana, and pineapple fruit compote).
After the meal was served, Spanish games were played.
