James Berwick Dead-This Day In Norwood History-June 15, 1916

Dean of the Printing Trade, Was President of the Norwood Press and Widely Known

James Berwick, known among printers the country over as the dean of the trade, died suddenly at his home on Walpole st this morning. He was 76 years old, but he had been active in business yesterday as always, and was planning to go to work today, Last Saturday he had entertained members of the Boston Typothetae Association at the Norwood Press Club.

Mr Berwick was president of the Norwood Press, which he moved to this town 26 years ago, and president of the Berwick & Smith Company, printers.

The imprint of his press has been on numberless volumes and publications circulated throughout this country and others.

In Norwood he was known and loved by all. He was a Mason, a member of the Canadian Club and of the Norwood Lodge of Elks.

Mr Berwick was born in Lunenburg, N H. Two children survive him, Mrs Florence Olsen of Dayton, O. and Walter J. Berwick, who was associated with his father in the printing business here.
