Hundreds of Norwood families, customers of H. P. Hood and Sons, were the guests of the Hood company at its newly enlarged and improved Boston milk plant on “Norwood Night”, Thursday, June 4. It was one of a number of Open House evenings held during the week at the Boston headquarters of the company and gave visitors from nearby cities and towns an opportunity to see one of the nation’s most modern and efficient milk plants in operation.

Norwood customers of the Hood company were invited to bring along their friends as well as members of their own families to see exactly how milk is handled from the farms, to the doorsteps of users. Guides were on hand to explain all operations and after the trip through the plant, all visitors were given refreshments topped off with Hood ice cream and other dairy products.

William E. Harding, manager of the Hood Norwood milk branch, headed the committee, assisted by John Gavin, assistant manager.
