Both members of the famous Caruso racing team, “Bronco” Bill Schindler and Mike Nazarach, will compete against the leading Offy drivers in the Bay State circuit in what shapes up as another banner midget auto racing card next Monday at the Norwood Arena on Route 1.

Bill Schindler, the one-legged star from Freeport, L.I., has been in action only once at the new Norwood oval, which was when he swept both ends of a twin feature three weeks ago. “The Bronk” set an all-time mark of fifty-three main event wins last year—forty-one in the ARDC circuit and twelve in the loop of the BSMRA, the sanctioning authority for the Norwood races. Bill Schindler has been seen mostly in Mike Caruso‘s No. 2 Offy this season, while Mike Caruso‘s No. 3 car—the vehicle in which Bill Schindler won thirty-nine firsts last year—is being piloted by the equally daring Mike Nazarach.

Bill Schindler is probably the best drawing card in the midget racing field today. Having successfully hurdled the handicap brought about by the loss of his left leg, he is generally recognized as the top driver in the game. Moreover, because Bill Schindler is the only remaining driver of an original field of sixteen that got midget racing started in New Jersey in 1934, he is looked upon as something extra special by his competitors and fans alike.

Johnny Thompson, winner last Monday of the feature event that was interrupted by two spins, will be back next Monday in an attempt to better his record against the best competition in the business. Georgia Lewis, who brought every spectator to his feet when he spun out fast on the top safety strip at the windup of a semifinal here Monday, will be on hand for the brand-new card, as will such other Bay State standouts as Endy Ellis, Bud Tatro, Bobby Blair, Joe Sostilio, Fran Magurn, Bill Randall, Ralph Moody, Stan Woods, Jerry Clark, Al Pillion, Ray Janelie, Art Sprague, and Milt Henry.
