The Christian Education building of the Evangelical Baptist Church, 234 Walpole Street, Norwood, was dedicated on Sunday, June 28, at a 7:00 p.m. Worship Service. The unique event was held on the lawn outside of the newly-redecorated building which once was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaw.
The building will be used to house Sunday School classes, boys and girls clubs, men’s groups, ladies’ groups, and miscellaneous meetings of the church. Furnishings have been provided through memorial gifts and love offerings.
The lovely dedication service was officiated by the pastor, J. Daniel Baumann. Other participants included a young ladies’ trio, Mr. Otis Russell, vice-chairman, Mr. Edmond Cluney, youth director, and Mr. Walter Ripley, Sunday School Superintendent.
The dedication sermon was offered by the pastor.
“We praise God for this gracious provision which will supplement our over-taxed facilities.”
The building is presently being used to house the largest Vacation Bible School in the history of the church. The people of the Evangelical Baptist Church recognize these signs as tokens of God’s grace.
