This Day in Norwood History-January 8, 1943-Navy Reports Harold Stewart Seriously injured

Local Boy Was Aviation Radioman, Home Recently

Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart, Central street, received a telegram Sunday morning from the Navy Department informing them that their son, Harold F Stewart, Aviation Radioman Third Class, had been seriously injured on December 31st.

Harold, 19, enlisted in the Navy while still m high school and was given a special diploma with the class of 1941. He had been in Navy service for two years.

He was home just before Christmas on a forty-eight-hour leave from Norfolk, Virginia, and left for an unknown destination.
