Sgt. Dominic Gemelli Awarded Good Conduct Medal
15th ARMY AIR FORCE IN ITALY—S/Sgt. Dominic Gemelli, 24, of 284 Lenox street, Norwood, has been awarded the good conduct, according to a recent announcement at this 15th Air Force heavy bombers base in Italy.
In the words of the Citation which accompanied the award, Sgt. Gemelli’s work has “demonstrated fidelity through faithful and exact performance of duty, efficiency through capacity to produce desired results.” It also mentions that his behavior “has been such to deserve emulation.”
Sgt. Gemelli a Mess Sergeant, is a member of a B-24 Liberator bomber group commanded by Col. Thomas W. Steed of Etowah, Tenn The group has flown more than 165 combat missions against strategic targets in southern Europe and the Balkans.
Sgt. Gemelli, prior to entering the service December 7, 1941, was employed by Bird & Son.
