John J. Murphy, 185 Roosevelt Avenue, Norwood, director of personnel and industrial relations at Bird & Son, Inc., was unanimously elected a director of the Dedham Trust Company at the annual meeting of stockholders held at the company offices in Dedham on Monday, January 13.
Mr. Murphy was a member of the Walpole Advisory Board of the bank from January 1960 until the opening of the Norwood office in 1962, when he became chairman of the Norwood Advisory Board.
The Dedham Trust Company has enjoyed a rapid expansion and is regarded as one of the fastest-growing commercial banks in the East. The bank, started in 1958, has four locations: Dedham, Walpole, Norwood, and Plainville.
