Pvt. Lawrence O’Brien, 29. one of four brothers in the service, has been missing in action in France since January 23rd, according to a telegram received yesterday from the War Department by his wife.

Pvt O’Brien has been serving with a radio communications unit attached to the Seventh Army in action on the Western front. A letter received by his wife on January 19th disclosed that he was about to rejoin his outfit after being hospitalized for fever and frostbite.

Pvt. O’Brien was married five years ago to the former Eleanor Podolske of Adams street. Norwood, who is now residing with her mother on Eleanor street. Dedham. The couple have two children, Lawrence, two years, and Nancy, six months.

The missing soldier entered the service a year ago and left for foreign service last August 15th He received his training at Camp McClellan. Ala., and Camp Shelby, Miss.

A graduate of Norwood High School, he was employed, by the Norwood Press at the time .of his induction.

His brothers in the service are Leo and Raymond F., both platoon sergeants in the U S. Marine Corps on active duty in the Pacific, and Pfc. Robert E. with the Army in California. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. J, L. O’Brien o£ 824 Washington street. Dedham, formerly of Norwood.
