
In 1931, Cummings Co. first moved to Norwood and opened a modest store at 686 Washington street. Many years of continued growth will be climaxed for the Cummings Co. locally when tomorrow, Thursday, February 27, at 11 a.m. they return to their original location and open a new, greatly expanded store, the ultimate in style and design, featuring many new famous-name spring fashions.
The Norwood store is one of 13 Cummings stores in the Greater Boston area.
Complete lines of dresses, coats, suits, sportswear, lingerie, corsetry, dusters and handbags, to please petites, juniors, misses, and women, will be featured with fashions, both new and different.
Cummings Co., founded in 1917 by J. Price, is now owned by his son, Daniel Price. General Manager for the Cummings stores, a familiar figure in Norwood, is Albert Bolsky, former manager of the Boston store, and Elliot Sklar, a Sharon resident, is assistant General Manager, Daniel Price is aided in running their 13 stores by his two sons, Paul and Michael, who are vice-presidents of the firm.
Harvey Simon, manager of the Norwood store, invites everyone to visit the new store during their grand opening weekend this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
