NORWOOD. Dec. 8—Capt. George T. Lee has crashed six times, but he’s In the air again with a new P-40 Warhawk to fight and fly with the United States Army Air Force once more, he wrote his mother, Mrs. Mary J. Lee, 26 Rock st., in a letter she received today.

Capt. Lee’s flirtations with death included a crash in Italy, but fortunately, the Italian forces nearby had just surrendered to the Allies. He was a member of the mosquito bomber squadron which harassed Rommel in North Africa.

A graduate of Norwood High School, Capt. Lee has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with two clusters. He has turned down all furloughs, however.

“I want to stay over here until the job is finished,” he confesses.
