December 14, 1953 – The Norwood Messenger
BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF NORWOOD is furnished in this first aerial picture of the town taken since before the war. This photo was made from a Piper Cub from the E. W. Wiggins, Inc., Norwood Airport at an elevation of 7000 feet. A telescopic lens was used. Route One cuts across the picture at the bottom, with East Cross street at right angles in the center. Neponset street is at the lower right. The Municipal Building and business section can be made out at the upper right-center. Near the top of the photo to the left is the Senior High School, with the beginnings of Westover in the upper left corner.
