Rocco J. Salvatore, 10 Arcadia Road, Norwood, saved the Air Force $3900 by co-developing a new device to be used on a four-jet engine KC-135 “flying laboratory” assigned to the US Air Force Electronic Systems Division at L G. Hanscom Field.

This $3900 savings represents part of an Air Forcewide Cost Reduction Program.

The newly designed piece of equipment is a special mounting ring adapter which will allow the installation of domes on the KC-135 to house optical mirrors and other specialized devices. Sharing credit for development of this new equipment was Mr. Albert Scansaroli of Bolton.

Mr. Salvatore graduated from Boston University in 1955 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He is presently employed as a Project Engineer in the Airborne Research Engineering Division at ESDI.
