Renata Simenas spent a weekend at Barnstable with classmates after graduation and has been working as a nurses’ aid at the Lemuel-Shattack Hospital for the summer. She is a scholarship student and plans to continue working until classes open at Smith College in the Fall. Renata in Public Health Nursing and will major in languages at Smith.


For the past few weeks, Susan Smith has been working at Foundings Motel at Cape Cod and plans to remain working there until after Labor Day. After graduation she was hostess at her parent’s cottage at South Harwich where a group of classmates visited for a week. Susan is interested in the study of retail sales and is accepted at Bradford Junior College where she will major in Liberal Arts beginning this fall.


Barbara Starratt visited New York City with a group of classmates for a week after graduation^ and spent the second week of her family’s vacation at Cataumet Island, Cape Cod, with them in July. She has been working at Grant’s in Norwood on a part-time basis for the past year and is on full-time for the summer. Barbara is interested in becoming an art teacher and is enrolled at the Massachusetts College of Art for the fall semester.


Shortly after Labor Day Michael Stupak is scheduled to begin an enlistment in the Air Force. Since graduation he has been working as a printer at the Norwood Hospital but is now on vacation until he goes to Texas for Basic training. Mike plans to continue in the printing field while with the Air Force and plans to study linotyping. Sometime before the end of the month he plans to take a two-week vacation in Maine.

Irene Taylor was hostess to a group of classmates for a week after graduation at her family’s cottage at Barnstable. She has been working at the Risk information department at Factory Mutual for the summer and is presently taking the orientation course there. Irene has been spending weekends at Barnstable with her family and friends and has scheduled a long weekend there over Labor Day. She plans to remain working in the fall but will attend evening school.


After graduation Charles Sulkala vacationed with classmates for a few days at Silver Beach. He has been keeping busy for the summer working two jobs. When he is not at the Golf Shop of the Dedham Country and Polo Club, he is working as a carpenter for Robert Wright of Norwood. Charles is accepted at Clark University beginning this fall where he will study Liberal arts. He plans to live on campus.


Bill Toomey began working at the Star Market after graduation and has been spending his vacation locally this summer. He is accepted at Northeastern University where he will major in education beginning this fall. Bill is interested in teaching social studies at the secondary school level.. Over the Labor Day weekend he will be vacationing with his family at Lake Winnepesaukee.


Arthur and Henry Twomey visited Cape Cod with classmates for a week after graduation and made several day trips while they were there. Arthur has been working on the 3:00 to 11:00 p.m. shift at Plimpton Press for the summer and Henry has been working six days a week as a lifeguard at Fr. Mac’s pool. The boys are undecided about the fall.
