Excerpt from the original hand-written document, written by Secretary J.P. Jordan during the first meeting on February 4, 1861.

A three-part celebration of the 100th anniversary of Orient Lodge A. F. & A. M., Norwood, will begin Saturday, May 6, with a dinner and reception for most Worshipful Laurence E. Eaton, Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts, it was announced today by James M. McBride of Westwood, Worshipful Master of Orient Lodge.

The dinner will be held at the Westwood High School.

Religious services will be held Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Norwood. The sermon will be preached by Rev. Leland L. Maxfield, Orient Lodge chaplain. Assisting in the services will be Rev. Jerome J. Hevey, Jr„ Rev. Edwin Grilley, and Rev. Leon Hatch.

A social night is scheduled for Friday evening, May 19, at the Blue Hills Country Club.

The lodge was chartered on February 22, 1861.
