Will Make Return Visit For Big City Event
Once again St. Catherine’s Senior Girls’ and Senior Boys Drum and Bugle Corps will step down Fifth Avenue in New York’s big St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 17th. Two years ago the Corps participated in the New York parade. Now they have been asked for a repeat performance.
More than 80 girls and boys with their instructors will travel by bus to New York, leaving Norwood on March 16th They will stay at the Taft Hotel on Times Square.
The boys will return here on Saturday and the girls on Sunday to arrive in. time for the St. Patrick’s Day program at the Norwood Junior High School that day. Then the Hon. Clare Gerald Fenerty, former congressman from Philadelphia, will speak.
While two years ago, St. Catherine’s Boys’ Corps led the New York parade, last year the Corps could not accept the invitation to participate. This year they will be back, showing New York how Norwood does it.
