In a delightfully festive atmosphere, a large gathering of members of the Norwood Catholic Woman’s Club attended the Christmas meeting held on Wednesday, December 12, at St. Catherine’s Cafeteria. In keeping with the holiday season the hall was beautifully decorated and each table was adorned with a lovely Christmas centerpiece.
President Mrs. Albert Bon-fatti presided at a short business meeting and wished all a happy and holy Christmas on behalf of the Board of Directors. The meeting was turned over to Mrs. George Devlin, program chairman, who introduced Mrs. Kathryn Shea, a club member, and her five children who entertained to the delight of all present.
The “Singing Sheas,” Dennis 11, Timmy 8, Lorie 6, Mary Kate 5, and Eddy 4, with their mother who arranged the entire presentation, sang their way into the hearts of everyone. Their colorful costume, versatile personalities, and marvelous voices created a stirring Christmas program that will long be remembered.
Mrs. Bonfatti thanked Mrs. Donald Bandoni, hospitality chairman, and the hostess for the evening, Mrs. William McGovern, along with her committee, who arranged the lovely decorations and refreshments. Hostesses included Mrs. Richard Abely, Mrs. Samuel Lynch, Mrs. Pasquale Bandan-za, Mrs. Robert Laverty, Mrs. Charles Lockwood, Mrs. John J. Flaherty, Mrs. William Cork-Mrs. Joseph Michaelson, Mrs. William Brothers, Mrs. Alfred Maclntire, Mrs. Joseph Lang, Mrs. James Lyddy, Mrs. Francis Sheehan and Mrs. Joseph Garron.
Another vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Joseph Cleary, who with her committee arranged for the successful Christmas sale.
The Hummel Creche was won by Mrs. James Rogers, Mrs. Ann D’Espinosa won the wreath and Jeannie Magee was awarded the Christmas Cake.
