Around 4 pm, a severe thunderstorm hit Norwood, bringing torrential rain and hail. The storm, which lasted around an hour, quickly overwhelmed several storm drains, causing minor flooding in various parts of town.
Central Street flooded between Cottage Street and Day Street.
East Hoyle Street flooded between the Auto Doctor and Norwood Central Station, just outside the former entrance to Norwood Hospital’s Emergency room. This area also flooded badly during the June 28, 2020 storm that led to the closure and eventual demolition of Norwood Hospital.
